Experience

Since 1997, Cheryl K. Smyers has been heavily involved in the Stambaugh Ness marketing initiative including the development of internal and external communications programs, collateral materials, vertical segments, related processes, training, research, and event planning and communication. She serves as administrator of the firm's website, edits the firm's weekly eNewsletters, and also presented Event Marketing as part of an industry webinar entitled "Demystify e-Marketing."

Her previous experience includes work as a daily newspaper reporter, photographer and section editor; development of a hospital public relations department; and serving as Division Director for the York Division of the American Heart Association.

Education and Professional Development

Cheryl graduated from Shippensburg University with a BA Degree in Communications. She has attended a variety of graphics, marketing, and communications seminars and marketing conferences.

Cheryl's accounting marketing quotes and articles have appeared in CPA Marketing Report, CPA Practice Management Forum, CPA Technology Advisor, AAM MarkeTrends, and Journal of Accountancy. She also contributed to a presentation for an Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) Annual Conference and The Accounting Firm Partner Compensation Forum. She was recently published in CPA Trendlines.

Community Involvement

Cheryl is a member and board member of New Friends of York. She is a long-time member of the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) and served previously on the AAM's Communications Committee. She is currently a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).
