Experience Jim has been a Manager with Stambaugh Ness, PC since 1998, when he merged his small business accounting practice with the firm. In addition to his many years working with clients in public accounting, Jim has also worked as a controller and as a business owner.
Jim utilizes his diverse accounting and business background to provide quality accounting, tax, and consulting services to individuals and small businesses in a variety of industries. His own small business experience has made him a valuable resource for helping clients to plan for and achieve their goals. Jim is serious about his personal and professional growth, and enjoys helping his clients grow as well. He believes in the value of continuous training and education, and he has participated in a variety of business, leadership, and sales training courses, with the desire to share this knowledge with co-workers and clients.
In addition to managing Firm clients and staff, Jim plays an active role in the continuous improvement of Stambaugh Ness as Manager of Small Business Services, and with his participation on the Business Development team.
Education Jim received his BS Degree in accounting from Messiah College in Grantham, PA in 1986. He earned his CPA license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1988, and is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. Jim has successfully completed the NASD’s Series 7 and 66 exams, to better assist his clients with their financial planning concerns.
Community Involvement Jim also maintains an active role in the community. He currently serves as Treasurer of the York County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Christian Businessmen’s Committee of York, and as President of the Dallastown High School Boy’s Soccer Booster Club. Jim has also been involved in coaching youth soccer since 1999. He is a graduate of the Leadership York Leadership Training Program, a past Central Penn Business Journal Forty Under 40 winner, a past MS Leadership Award winner, and a past volunteer with Junior Achievement.
